My Wonderful Misfortune

THIS IS A TRUE STORY...........

One morning, I went on a walk with my father. The path seemed ever so familiar, almost as if...Bangalore? How could it be? We were in Bradford just yesterday, and I didn't seem to remember getting on a plane.

Anyhow, I knew the first thing I wanted to do,  find my friends, my four best friends.

After a few more steps, we reached chairs with a bizarre ( at first sight ) reason. By looking around, I inferred quite a lot. There was going to be a show. A dance performance, with four dancing girls. No prizes for guessing who they were! Siyani soon spotted me with her wandering eyes, but the others took a while. You tell by the look on her face and the huge (appearing) grin that she was eager to speak to me.

When the dance was finally over, she ran up to me, followed by Aadhya, Vamika and Malvika.

I pinched myself, like movie characters often do, to guarantee that I wasn't dreaming. It didn't hurt! I repeated this, but with the same result.

I shut  my eyes, but changed my mind and opened them, to catch a last glimpse of my   chums, in case I'd never see them again. But all that was in sight was my duvet, proving that I was in my bed, in my room, in my house, in Bradford, England.

Wonderful Teeshu, such 'inceptions' happen to me quite a lot of time too & am pretty sure with most of the people but probably very few pen them down so beautifully like you did...

Kaju, as has been said by an unknown author .."Dreams are answers to our questions we haven't yet figured out how to ask.".....it always feels so good to browse through your penned down thoughts and now it makes me a whole lot happier to get a share of your beautiful dream....keep your dreams alive and always remember everything is possible if you believe in it...try to give shape to all your little wishes and someday it will be big enough to cover your world with all that is good and your very own riches....

  5. Well it's our fortune to have a fantastic slice of your mind...and of course we don't want to make our fortune out of your misfortune!....think of dressing up your wish/dream in a way that is bound to look lively and far from any touch of misfortune...how about "a wonderful untrue truth"

    1. I have described it as a "wonderful misfortune", because it is a wonderful dream, but the misfortune is that it ends too soon.

  6. Teesha, do not change anything just because someone has asked you to do so. Not just the title of your blog - anything in life. First convince yourself that a change is really required and then change. Having said that, always be open to change - after all, that is the only constant thing in life. Good penmanship, by the way.

  7. Dreams do come true. As someone rightly pointed out, don't change anything. The originality that come out from the mind and heart is what is important. Keep penning down and enlightening your readers. Your articulation is awesome.
